Happy Fall, Y’all!

Fall is one of my absolute favorite times of the year. The changing leaves, bonfires (and s’mores) on the patio, cozy sweaters, college football, and the brewing excitement of the upcoming holidays eagerly awaiting us right around the corner. Need I go on?

And while there’s still plenty left of 2022, this is also that time of year when I start thinking about the upcoming year and all that I hope to accomplish.

What I’m reading

“Move Your Bus” by Ron Clark. Recommended by a very dear friend, this book is a great read for just about anyone, especially those in leadership roles. Understanding those who work around you is vital and will ultimately determine your ability to maximize their productivity, success, and happiness. Inspiring, entertaining, and a quick (and fun) read, I encourage you to add it to your reading list!

What I’m revisiting

“50 ways to be ridiculously generous – and feel ridiculously good.” by Alexandra Franzen. This has been shared with me by several people over the recent months, and I’ve found myself spending time reading through it again. I’m reminded of a quote by Oprah, “happiness is there for the taking – and making.” By putting forth the effort to make others happy, we, in turn, make ourselves happy. What are you doing to make others — and yourself — feel ridiculously good?

Quote I’m pondering

“There’s no such thing as work-life balance. There are work-life choices, and you make them, and they have consequences.” – Jack Welch

TV series I’m watching

Cobra Kai (Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, YouTube, Google Play), I know I risk receiving some judging comments and laughter, but as the saying goes, “don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!” All kidding aside, as a child of the 80s, the Karate Kid has always held a special place in my heart. Sometimes I want to focus and become enthralled in a series, and that’s when this type of entertainment fits the script. This series is light-hearted and just plain entertaining. Watch the trailer here. I encourage you to give it a try!
